The Flames Sophie Haydock

Wednesday 11th October 7.30pm The Bookshop

"The Peacock Arts Trail runs from 7th-15th October and to celebrate we have an art-related event. We shall be whisking you to Vienna in 1913, decadent, opulent and filled with shocking new art. It's the setting for Sophie Haydock's debut novel, The Flames, which is the story of four extraordinary women. They come from very different backgrounds, but their lives collide when they become involved with controversial young artist Egon Schiele. Schiele is one of those painters you either love or hate: his work has always caused shockwaves. This fascinating and compelling novel tells his story from a woman's eye view."
