And we’re off! Hello 9 days of art art and more art!

We hope artists and art lovers alike have a wonderful week, chatting with fellow enthusiasts, making new friends, and generally celebrating how important it is to be creative in any way you can!

If you’ve not seen it already, do check out our Discover the Trail page which we hope will help you navigate the Trail – links to our exhibitors can be found on this page (or above), along with links to maps, our online brochure and workshops.

Thank you in advance to everyone who visits one or more of our venues – we can assure you that a lot of work goes into getting ready for an exhibition like this and you will be warmly welcomed at every venue you visit. And remember, entry to all venues is completely free.

Venue #42 Chippenham Museum & Heritage Centre

We’re nearing the end of the Trail now, but we still have a LOT to see, with more artists than ever in Chippenham!

We are delighted therefore that our next venue on the Trail is Chippenham Museum and Heritage Centre, where we have three of our talented artists exhibiting. Located in an 18th century grade II listed building, the entrance to the Museum is through the shop, located off the Market Place next to the Angel Hotel.

Barking Hen Jewellery: Tamara Eggleston –

Tamara, a jeweller/designer for over 20 years, hand-makes her jewellery from a little studio in her back garden in Chippenham. Using traditional silversmithing techniques, her jewellery is inspired by nature and tends to mirror the changing seasons. Tamara’s favourite metals are a combination of silver and copper as they contrast so beautifully.

Venue #32 White Cottage, Box

Over at venue #32 we have the fabulous Emma Leith exhibiting from her home in Box, along with both her mum & dad and returning milliner, Adrienne Horswill. If you love colour, this is a must visit venue!

Emma is also a Trail organiser, so any burning questions, she will be happy to help.

Carol Leith –

Carol Leith is best known for her world famous Monkeypuzzle sculptures and Illustrations, however she has recently branched out into painting in mixed media. Carol’s work is a mixture of techniques which include, oil on canvas, water colour, collage, fretsaw art and fabric wall hangings.

Peacock Arts Trail 2017 – Thank You!

The Peacock Committee would like to say a massive thank you to everyone involved in the 2017 Peacock Arts Trail! We can’t believe the 9 days are over already!

To our artists – a great big thank you for all your  hard work and enthusiasm. It takes a huge amount of effort to prepare for an exhibition like this, which we know you do whilst juggling busy lives.

To our visitors – it is wonderful to know that there are so many of you who appreciate the arts! Thank you for visiting in record numbers, and we can’t wait to see some of the results of the workshops and other activities that you were involved in. We hope you will hang on to your brochure as it makes an excellent gift buying guide to support local artists.

Here are a few of our photos from the Trail. Please feel free to share yours with us, especially if you made something fabulous on a workshop.

Mid-Trail Tea Break!

We’re halfway through the Peacock Arts Trail 2017 and it’s been a whirlwind!

The Peacock’s have been out and about on the Trail and we are absolutely blown away by the talent on display. We can’t thank our artists enough for making the Trail so fantastic, their hard work makes it such a success!

And a success it seems to be…everywhere we’ve visited we’re hearing incredibly positive things about visitor numbers and engagement. We also can’t wait to see the creative outcomes of the workshops and drop in activities that have been running through the course of the week.

What has inspired you so far? Have you joined in on a workshop? Where do you plan to visit next? Share your journey with us on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram.

But first, time to sit down, have a cup of tea, and browse through our photos for a recap (and inspire those yet to hit the Trail to shake a tail feather)…
