Not too far from Corsham town centre, at the bottom of South Street, you will find our next artist – ceramicist Virginia Graham.
Virginia moved to Corsham from Wales three years ago, she set up a studio in her garden and here she creates her striking ceramics that are increasingly popular.
“I make functional stoneware ceramics using handbuilding and slip casting techniques, rather than throwing on the wheel. I make a range of items from teapots, cups, jugs and jars to tiles and jewellery. They are decorated with floral prints and colourful painted slips.
I have been enjoyed working with clay for 17 years since completing a BA in Ceramics at Cardiff School of Art and Design in 2000. I have exhibited widely during this time making my living from selling my pots. I sell through small shops and galleries around the UK and overseas as well as showing at craft fairs.”
