Maker Spotlight - Miss Wizz Jewellery

Maker Spotlights: each day we will be focusing on individual exhibitors, exploring their work and finding out what makes them tick...

Wizz creates imaginative pieces of fine art jewellery in silver clay, capturing inspiration from the industrial revolution, to the beautiful countryside of her Cotswold home.

Silver clay gives her focus and escapism, and allows Wizz to express her creativity in pieces that are meaningful to the individual.

Wizz teaches making Silver Clay jewellery and her studio is divided into her half which is “organised chaos” and her teaching half where the student’s desks are “neatly laid out”. Wizz is inspired by her students – “I love seeing their enthusiasm and their inspirations”. She is looking forward to speaking to local people on the trail about what they would like from workshops. She is also looking forward to showing off her new studio and meeting exciting people.

Wizz has found that silver clay has given her purpose, direction and a channel for many forms of pain and happiness; “I often use my creativity as a therapy, and I like introducing this to others”. When not creating or writing lesson plans, Wizz spends her time kayaking, walking and driving steam engines.
