Venue #33 Box Upholstery

From Emma Leith’s venue, you will be well placed to take a relaxed stroll around the rest of Box. Next up – at venue #33 – is Lindsay Booth who is new to the Peacock Arts Trail. Great to have you join us Lindsay!

Lindsay Booth –

Working in the wonderful village of Box, Lindsay Booth is the maker behind Box Upholstery. Lindsay enjoys working with her hands, using a variety of materials and traditional and modern techniques to breathe new life into a chair or sofa, creating a unique piece of furniture that will last for years to come.

Lindsay began her training in 2012 at The London Metropolitan University where she spent four years studying the craft of upholstery. Lindsay then went on to be awarded First Prize by the Worshipful Company of Upholders and gain a Diploma in Upholstery from the Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers. It sounds to us like your furniture is in safe hands!

Taking an old, broken or tired piece of furniture inspires Lindsay – she tells us that she is inspired by making it good for another lifetime. Lindsay says, “the variety of work is one of the things I love about being an upholsterer. Repairing frames, lashing springs, stitching traditional fillings, cutting foam, making buttons, sewing covers … two days are never the same”.
