Applications are steadily coming in for this years arts trail. At HQ we’re getting excited at the prospect of new spaces to explore and techniques to learn about from our talented artists and makers. You don’t need to have your own studio space to get involved; you can exhibit at venues within our area. Museums, community centres, halls, shops and restaurants can make great exhibition spaces too. If you have any questions about exhibiting with us, we’re here to help. • • Photo taken at The Barbara Hepworth museum in St Ives ....we can all dream about a space like this can’t we?
If you’re planning to exhibit with us, here’s what you can expect: You get 9 days that are all about YOU! Meet the public, network with other artists, sell your work and just generally have lots of amazing chats with people about the thing that you LOVE doing! We aim to provide you with all the support you need to make the event a success for you, including our vibrant social media campaign, local press and publicity, help and advice on marketing yourself, opportunities to network with other artists and much more. You’ll find the application form on our website. If you have any questions, just shout!
That’s right, WE’RE BACK and we’re going to be bigger and better than ever! The 2019 Peacock Arts Trail will run from Saturday 5 – Sunday 13 October. That’s 9 lovely days of art, art and more art! You can see a cross section of the artists exhibiting within the @marlboroughopenstudios at the end of this week as they host their preview show. (Curated by @marywilkinsonartist )
I popped into @poundarts Corsham and fell in love with a little rabbit called Paisley. 🐰 The illustrations for ‘Paisley Rabbit and the Treehouse contest’ written by Steve Richardson and exquisitely illustrated by @chrisdunnillos (Chris Dunn) are currently being exhibited. Not only do you get to see the full size originals and gaze in wonder at all the minuscule details. You can also flip through the delicate draft pencil drawings, and scribbled notes. A rare opportunity to see behind the scenes as all the characters come to life. The exhibition is on until June.
Today is the last day of the Cloth Road Arts trail. The sun is shining, what better day to explore creative studios and galleries on your doorstep.
